Thermal Art Photography

Thermal Art Photography is a new and unique visual art form which allows us to view everyday life in an unexpected and imaginative way.

A specialised infra-red camera capable of detecting heat energy is used to create the thermal images or photographs. Some objects produce their own heat, and others reflect the heat of the sun. This heat is captured on camera and from the heat variations a visual image is produced. The end result is a vibrant and energetic representation of the world around us, an effect which is unique to Thermal Art Photography.

My portfolio ranges from images of the natural world, urban scenes to more contemporary objects. Examples of my work are included in the collections of the Office of Public Works in Ireland and in private collections worldwide. I am also available to do commission work. I hope you enjoy the galleries provided and thank you for taking time to visit The Familiar Unknown.
